An advanced centre for Ophthalmology, Apex Specialized Eye Centre was launched at Azaibah, Muscat. The centre is co-founded by Dr. Naila Al Harthy, Senior Ophthalmologist and managing directors of Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals Abdul Latheef and Dr P A Mohammed. Apex Eye Centre is a specialized hi-technology eye centre dedicated to comprehensive ophthalmic patient care. The aim of the centre is to provide high-end ophthalmic care with compassion and unmatched care. The centre is ready to provide treatment for Cataract, Uveitis, Glaucoma (Pediatric and Adult), Retinal Diseases, Diabetic Retinopathy, Strabismus (Pediatric and Adult), Refractive surgeries, Contact lens fitting, Oculoplastic surgeries and Neuro-Ophthalmology and Laser therapies.
Dr. Naila Al Harthy, Founder and Senior Ophthalmologist, on this occasion said the medical program in our centre is designed to provide treatment in all the areas of ophthalmology like Diabetic Retinopathy, Cornea diseases, Cataract, Ophthalmic Tuberculosis, and many others. Our team in Apex Specialized Eye centre is very experienced and compassionate and ready to treat the patients with empathy and high quality of care. She said she had carried this dream for five year and today she is very excited to see this dream come true.
In a joint statement managing directors of Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals Abdul Latheef and Dr P A Mohammed said, “We faced many challenges, but due to extreme dedication and commitment we are ready to provide high quality healthcare in ophthalmology. Our aim is to provide advanced ophthalmic treatment for which many Omanis and expats are travelling abroad thus saving their time and money and giving them the best eye care. Within 3 months, we are planning to add two more ophthalmic operation theatres and expand the day care unit. We’ll gradually expand the presence to all major areas of the country”.
Firasath Hassan, Executive Director, on this occasion was glad to see the dream plan of Dr. Niala Al Harthy which was discussed in a boardroom with Abdul Latheef and Dr P A Mohammed some months back has become a reality on ground. He urged the Apex team to serve the patient with utmost care and ensure they are well taken care of.
Moiedeen Bilal, Executive Director, on the occasion said that this centre has everything to become the best ophthalmology centre in Oman. With immediate expansion plans it will house the best machinery and will be able to cater to large volumes of ophthalmology patients.
Sameer PT, CEO said this area of healthcare has huge demand for quality care in the region. Many advanced ophthalmic procedures which were rarely or not available will now be available for our citizens and residents. He said our aim is to bridge all gaps on ophthalmic care and curtail the need of patients travelling abroad.
Jacob Oomen, COO said that Apex Centre will soon be on an expansion spree and will not just be available in other governorates of Oman but in countries of the region. He said we are set to deliver best quality ophthalmic healthcare.
K O Devassy, Chief Marketing Officer reassured the confidence and commitment of team in catering to growing needs of ophthalmic patients. He said there is potential to increase the scope and presence in the region and work on that has already begun.
Alwin George, Group Finance Manager and his team has been instrumental since the ideation phase of this project. During his speech he congratulated everyone and committed all possible support in the future as well.
